Jewish Kennel
Sydney care organisation Jewish House has expanded…it now incorporates Jewish Kennel.
And the first guest at the canine refuge is a delightful pooch who goes by the name of Torah!
Jewish House CEO Mendel Kastel told J-Wire: “This is part of our new strategy to help the homeless. I believe our refuge is the only one which allows the homeless to lodge their pets. We have room for two dogs and a couple of cats.”
It is not only the owners who benefit from this latest initiative. Rabbi Kastel added: “We also have kids staying with us and they love playing with the animals. Torah has become the centre of attention for those kids currently at Jewish House.”
Jewish House vet Sam Kovac checks the animals on arrival and offers his services to perform any necessary procedure such as vaccination.
