The American Jewish Committee has presented its prestigious National Human Relations Award to Rupert Murdoch.In his acceptance speech in Manhattan last night [Wed] , the 77-year-old head of News Corporation said that Israel should be involved in the growing war against terrorism. He told the function that Israel was fighting the same fight as the West against terrorism, citing suicide and car bombers and the use of the human shield.
The award recognised Murdoch’s professional excellence and extraordinary philanthropic work around the world. It was presented by Australian actor Hugh Jackman.
