Jewish Australian arrested in Luxor – DFAT confirms man charged

J-Wire investigating reports that a Jewish Australian has been arrested in Egypt on espionage charges, learned today that a man has been charged with riding a motor-cycle without number plates.A spokesman for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade told J-Wire: “A 36-yr-old man was arrested on April 14 in Luxor for riding a motor cycle without plates. He remains in custody today.”

The spokesman agreed that the circumstances appear unusual and Government investigations are continuing.”

In two separate reports, the man is alleged to have Polish citizenship and Dutch citizenship.
