Jack wows Jewish House
Sydney care organisation held its annual Gala Dinner last night with Australia’s Got Talent winner Jack Vidgin headlining the entertainment.
Funnyman and impersonator Paul Martell M.C.’d the evening at the city’s Sofitel Hotel getting loads of laughs from the 500-strong audience who also marvelled at his amazing impersonations.
14-yr-old Jack Vidgin announced that his first album had gone gold. Not bad for a lad who has been homeless himself since the age of three and who told J-Wire that there were many nights spent sleeping in a car with his mother Rachel.
Vidgin, who toured Jewish House a few weeks ago, is no stranger to the services the care organisation has on offer, including a well-equipped refuge.
But the teenager’s star is now well and truly on the rise and he is leaving the poverty line well behind him.
Jewish House CEO told J-Wire: “It was wonderful to receive such wide support from the community and messages from all levels of government right up to the Prime Minister.”
A special award was made to Paul Hotz who has retired as a Jewish House board member after 20 years’ service.
