It’s official! JNF Australia and Grandma Moses are in the Guiness Book of Records
JNF NSW Executive Director Gabbie Budai has received confirmation that JNF Australia and Grandma Moses are officially the Guinness World Record holders for the longest braided loaf of bread.
The attempt was made on the November 14 last year as part of the Shabbat Project Week.
Gabbie told J-Wire: “It was a huge undertaking by all involved and an incredible achievement by the community worth celebrating”. JNF Australia, Grandma Moses and the Shabbat Project team thank all the volunteers and schools involved including Masada College, Emanuel School, Moriah College, KTC and Mount Sinai.
The record was attempted as part of the Shabbat Project 2019 activities and served to encourage the community to stay connected, get involved and feel proud of their heritage.” JNF Australia and Grandma Moses broke the previous record of 6.09m held by Project Inspire based in Brooklyn New York, by achieving a bake 10.087m in length. Supported by Maroubra Synagogue and Mendy’s Pizza, JNF Australia and Grandma Moses welcomed the confirmation of the record during these difficult times.”
Gabbai added: “In these uncertain times, happy news is a welcome relief!”
