Israeli tributes to Richard Pratt
The family of Richard Pratt, who died six months ago, will attend tributes to the philanthropist in Israel.On October 30, a musical performance in his name will be held at the Nalaga’at Centre at Jaffa Port featuring the Batsheva Dance Company and Roman Rabinovitch, the winner of the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Masters Competition.
The event will be attended by representatives of the Australian and Israeli governments.
Two days later, a plaque dedicated to Pratt’s memory will be unveiled in the Park of the Australian Soldier in Be’er Sheva at a function hosted by the Australian Embassy. The event will commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the fall of the desert city following the Battle of Be’er Sheva, in which the charge of the Light Horse played an integral part in the victory of the ANZAC and British forces over the Turks.
