Israeli field hospital in Ukraine installed, 230 tons of aid sent to refugees
The Israeli field hospital in Ukraine was installed over the weekend after equipment was transferred via Poland, the latest phase of Israel’s help to the war victims in Ukraine.

Seventeen tones of equipment for the establishment of the Israeli ‘Shining Star’ field hospital were sent to Poland, and then from there to the town of Mostyska in western Ukraine.
A medical delegation, including 60 medical staff from all sectors of the health system, will depart Israel on Monday under the leadership of Dr David Dagan, director of the government hospitals department at the Ministry of Health.
The hospital will provide medical care to the war’s many refugees and will include a delivery room, and adult and pediatric wards. The medical assistance will also include laboratory and imaging capabilities and will utilize remote technologies in collaboration with the Sheba Medical Centre in Israel. The hospital will commence operations on Tuesday.
Similarly, an air train of 230 tons of humanitarian aid donated by the Israeli public for the victims of the war in Ukraine set out to Europe as part of Operation “Out Turn” led by the Jewish Agency.
The donations, including winter equipment and hygiene products, will be dispatched to the Ukrainian border crossings with Poland, Romania, and Hungary.
112 local authorities and organizations from all over Israel took part in the operation, during which 23,000 boxes were collected. The equipment will be distributed by the JDC and the Friends of Ukraine Association in Israel, both to refugees at the border crossings who fled the war destitute and to the victims of the war within Ukraine.
The equipment donated by the general public will also be used to support immigrants and refugees who come to Israel.
Yaakov Haguel, Chairman of the World Zionist Organization and Acting Chairman of the Jewish Agency, stated last week that “the people of Israel are measured by their ability to mobilize for the other in times of peace and in times of war. The Israeli public has opened its hearts and donated hundreds of tons of humanitarian equipment that will help both the victims of the war in Ukraine and the refugees who are in neighboring countries.”
At the same time, Jewish communities around the world mobilized for the Jewish Agency’s relief efforts for the Jews of Ukraine and have so far donated more than NIS 60 million – through the Jewish Federations of North America, Keren Hayesod and Israeli donors and friends from around the world.
