Israeli editor warns global Jihadists “are winning”
The Foreign Editor of Israel’s largest newspaper, Israel Hayom, who described the recent shutdown of US embassies in the Middle East and Africa as “proof that terrorism is winning” will be addressing audiences in Sydney later this month.
An analyst, author and former Israeli Ambassador to Mauritania, Boaz Bismuth will be a visiting scholar of The Shalom Institute in August. He will deliver a series of public lectures beginning on Monday 19 August and will appear at the AICE Israeli Film Festival and the Sydney Jewish Writers’ Festival.
He will be speaking about Israel’s red line and battle lines, the state of the Arab world and latest developments in the “Arab Spring”, and the re-energised peace process between Israel and the Palestinians.
In an article published yesterday, Bismuth warned, in relation to the ongoing threat of al-Qaida, “one more victory like this and we’ve lost.”
“It was convenient for the American government to think that jihadist terrorism was on its death bed”, he writes.” After all, this coincides with Obama’s desire to disengage from the Middle East, bring the troops home from Afghanistan, and primarily to focus on the region that really is interesting and influential today: Far East Asia and the Pacific Rim. Obama wants to disengage from jihadist terrorism. Terrorism, however, is showing no signs of wanting to part ways with Obama.”
Michael Misrachi, Education Director at The Shalom Institute, described Bismuth as a “brilliant speaker with sharp insights. His experience and contact with Arab countries as an Israeli journalist is remarkable and the community will gain a great deal from his knowledge.”
“He is also a hugely engaging and entertaining speaker, full of stories from his travels and work in Arab countries, which includes personally interviewing former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Syrian president Bashar al-Assad and former Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi, and visiting Hezbollah headquarters in Lebanon.”
Last year, Bismuth spoke to packed audiences for UIA Victoria and Misrachi urges the Sydney community not to miss out.

Bismuth is right to note that the jihadis are winning and wrong in claiming that Obama wants to disengage from the Middle East.
The jihadis are winning because too many players are willing to use their bestiality to advance their interests. If all nations played by civilised rules, the terrorists would be starved of funds, recruits and safe havens.
This brings me to Obama. A few days ago even Barry Rubin dared to say the obvious: Obama is assisting jihadis.
Obama has undermined Egypt where he supported the Moslem Brotherhood. He is undermining Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan. He joins with Saudi Arabia and Qatar in undermining Syria.
Barakah baby is a committed revolutionary. But nobody dares to think the unthinkable: that he is an islamophile underming the West and Israel, of course, and that the logical step would be to start impeachment proceedings against him.
