Israeli-born artist premieres in Adelaide

Avital Sheffer’s award-winning ceramics are being exhibited in Adelaide….her first exhibition in the South Australian capital.

Sheffer lives on the north coast of NSW near Mullumbimby where she creates ceramic vessels drawing on her Middle East background for inspiration. SHe comes from the small town of Clil in Western Galilee.

Her work has been exhibited in Australia and the U.S. since 2004 and is featured in major galleries including the National Gallery of Australia and Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum.

The artist is currently featured at the Space Between Exhibition being held at Adelaide’s Aptoz Cruz Galleries.

The exhibition closes on September 5.

Her first solo show opens on Queensland’s  Gold Coast this weekend at Anthea Polson Art.
