Israeli army rescues first hostage from Gaza
The Israeli Defence Forces and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) announced on Monday evening that it rescued Col. Uri Magidish, a female soldier kidnapped by Hamas on October 7.
The announcement said she was rescued during an overnight mission.
Following her release, she underwent a medical examination and is in good condition. She has been reunited with her family. The IDF and Shin Bet affirm their ongoing commitment to secure the release of all abductees.
Magidish is the first of more than 230 hostages rescued from Gaza.
“The IDF and the Shin Bet will continue to make every effort to bring about the release of the abductees,” the statement said.
