The four yearly State elections in WA will be held on March 9.  No seat will be more hotly contested than Mt Lawley, where the incumbent Liberal MP, Michael Sutherland is being opposed by former Labor parliamentarian and State minister, Bob Kucera.

Both have been stalwart supporters of Jewish community organisations and Israel.  Bob is the Chairman of the Friends of Israel WA but has  stood aside until the election is decided.  Michael is a patron of the same organisation.

Mt Lawley is a marginal seat (Sutherland won by 1.7% four years ago) with a small but significant Jewish population.  Understandably, both political parties are very keen to secure the endorsement of the electorate.
