The quota of Arab workers from Judea and Samaria employed in Israel in the construction industry will be expanded by an additional 9,000 employment licenses.

The IDF’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) stated that “this is part of the implementation of the government’s decision to increase the quota of Palestinian workers in the construction industry by 15,000.”

Licensed Israeli employers will be able to apply for employment licenses for additional employees.

The decision to enlarge the permits quota comes at the end of staff work led by the COGAT, the Population and Immigration Authority, the Ministry of Construction and Housing, as well as the Ministry of Defence, Finance and Regional Cooperation.
