The Australia/Israel and Jewish Affairs Council has welcomed the Senate Inquiry set up to examine the way both the ABC and SBS deal with complaints from the public.

Colin Rubenstein

AIJAC’s executive director Dr Colin Rubenstein told J-Wire: “AIJAC very much welcomes both the well-justified Senate Inquiry properly established by Senator Andrew Bragg last week, along with the similar inquiry set up by the ABC Board recently, which will also examine “the adequacy of the ABC Editorial Policies and ABC Code of Practice”.

AIJAC will be making submissions to both inquiries, arguing for and demonstrating the need for, an external, independent complaints procedure for the ABC.

Hopefully, the recommendations from these inquiries will eventually improve the current inadequate complaints procedure and ABC editorial policies, thereby enhancing the performance and standing of the ABC, particularly by ensuring news is accurate and impartial.”

ABC’s complaint procedure is dealt inhouse  although dissatisfied complainants can take their matters further by addressing them to the independent Australian Communications and Media Authority.

Colin please leave our ABC and SBS alone. Without the ABC and SBS we would only end up with commercial TV rubbish like those creepy bogan reality programs.

    • Leon Poddebsky says:

The creepy bogan ABC and SBS non-reality fictional pseudo-reportage about Israel, and their self-censoring out any mention of the Arab ‘Palestinian” regimes’ crimes against both Israel and their own people are a stain on civilisation.
