Australian Foreign Minister is not happy with the tweet that is not a tweet as reported in the Australian Financial Review.

The tweet referring to Prisoner X now known as former Melbourne man Ben Zygier who died in an Israeli jail in 2010 said that readers should not forget that he was an Israeli citizen too.

A spokesman for Foreign Minister Bob Carr told J-Wire that the minister would never use Twitter as a form of communication and that he believed that referring to Zygier’s Israeli citizenship was an attempt by someone to shift the onus of the responsibility of whatever Zygier may have to done to his Israeli persona and not his Australian one. Carr said that was entirely inappropriate.

What would Carr know about it! Does he really believe Ben Zygier’s actions and thoughts were determined solely by his Australian identity. Zygier had dual citizenship and dual affiliations/affections. The complexity of that is obviously beyond Carr’s comprehension.
