IAF Pounds Hamas targets in response to rocket attacks
Israel Air Force (IAF) fighters on Wednesday night struck several military targets in a Hamas compound in the Gaza Strip in response to balloons carrying explosive devices and a rocket launched by Gazan terrorists at Israel.
The rocket exploded in an open space, causing no injuries or damage. The Iron Dome defense system responded to the launch but reportedly missed its target.
Earlier on Wednesday, Gaza-based terrorists launched two explosive charges tied to balloons towards the Eshkol Region near the border with the Strip. The charges exploded in midair above an Israeli community but caused no injuries or damage.
The IAF reportedly attacked a new seaport built for Hamas’ naval forces.
“The IDF views with severity any attempt to harm Israel’s citizens and will continue to act vigorously against these terrorist acts,” the IDF said in a statement.
“The Hamas terrorist organization bears responsibility for everything that is happening in and out of the Gaza Strip,” it added.
The terrorists in Gaza have increased their attacks on the Israeli communities surrounding the Strip in recent days, prompting the IDF to attack Hamas targets in response.
