Former Prime Minister John Howard joined Sky News’s David Speers in conversation at an Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce lunch in Sydney yesterday.

Although most of the conversation focused on the upcoming election, Howard expressed his hopes that the current initiative to get the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks back on track. However, he told the luncheon guests that he was “hopeful but not confident”.
John Howard was always a good friend of Israel unlike the leader and members of the Greens.
