Australian Friends of Rambam has announced that epidemiologist Prof. Mary-Louise McLaws has become its honorary president.

She has expertise in hospital infection and infectious diseases control. Her COVID-19 related activities include among others: a member of the World Health Organization (WHO) Health Emergencies Program Experts Advisory Panel for Infection Prevention and Control Preparedness, Readiness and Response to COVID-19, and a member of the NSW Clinical Excellence Commission COVID Infection Prevention and Control taskforce. She is the Focal Point for the WHO Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN) in the School of Population Health.

A spokesperson for Ausforam said: “We look forward to your participation and input into our activities and events.”
Prof. Mary-Louise McLaws said: I am delighted to be a member and join the Board. My hope is that I can assist Rambam by bring awareness of its innovative achievements to a wider community outside of Israel. To do this I hope to support the work of AUSFORAM of our Jewish communities and build broader awareness and support of Rambam nationally and globally.
