“I can’t believe it!” said Emanuel Synagogue’s Rabbi Ninio, “I never thought the day would come when I am being replaced by a robot, and not even a very good-looking one either!”

When challenged about their decision, an Emanuel Synagogue representative said:

“It’s great! You just plug what you want into the computer, and before you can say ‘bim bom, bim, bim bim, bom’ out pops a Purim Spiel! There is no complaining about how hard it is, no need to stroke its rather inflated ego, we don’t have to pretend things are funny when they’re not, it’s great! I think we are onto a winner.”

When approached for comment, Rabbi Ninio said: “Well, good luck with getting that bot to come up with the same jokes every year, and see how far you get with it writing a horrible Hungarian accent. That takes incredible talent and nuance. Chat GPT: Chat Gornisht Purim Traif! That’s what I say! They will be begging me to come back!”

So far, the synagogue has remained silent about whether or not AI will replace all the rabbinic roles. In the meantime, Rabbi Ninio and her team of writers have created “Hamiltashen: A Purim Revue,” filled with sketches, songs and fun and she is hoping that it will go ahead this year.
