Hamas executes five citizens, two for collaborating with Israel
The Hamas-controlled Ministry of the Interior in the Gaza Strip announced Sunday that five residents of the Gaza Strip, including two suspected of collaborating with Israel, were executed. Two of the residents were executed by a firing squad and three were hanged.

A.N., a 44-year-old resident of Gaza, was arrested in 2009 on suspicion of collaborating with Israel since 2001 and was put in front of a firing squad on Saturday. The Hamas regime attributes to him the transfer of information that resulted in damage to the “resistance fighters.”
K.S., 54 years old, was also suspected of cooperating with Israeli intelligence and was arrested in 2015 and executed by hanging, according to the wording of Article (131) of the Palestinian Revolutionary Penal Code from 1979.
The other three were charged with murder and robbery.
The military court in the Gaza Strip relies on the Penal Law used in Gaza from 1979 as well as regulations from 2001.
Last November, the Hamas military court sentenced three residents to death, including two for cooperating with Israeli intelligence and one for drug trafficking.
Since the establishment of the Palestinian Authority in 1994, 245 citizens have been sentenced to death, 215 of them in the Gaza Strip and 30 in the Palestinian Authority’s territories. 157 death sentences have been recorded in the Gaza Strip since Hamas came to power in 2007.
