Halper’s Sydney meeting draws a crowd of 70

American-born Israeli professor Jeff Halper spoke to an audience of seventy at his re-sited Sydney meeting last night.Vivienne Porzsolt of Jews Against Occupation told J-Wire that letters printed commenting on the cancellation of the original venue for Halper showed that “half the letters were objecting to the cancellation or supporting Professor Halper.”
She added that Palestinian rights should be part of the solution not part of the problem, calling on the community to provide venues for debate.
Halper is a member of of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions. His meeting scheduled at Sydney’s Emanuel Synagogue was cancelled by the synagogue and took place at the Uniting Church in Paddington.
