Getting to know the Australian medtech market
Nearly 100 Israeli MedTech companies joined the Israel Trade Commission Australia’s webinar event yesterday hosting the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) to learn about regulations from expert government officials, hear from industry leaders, discover opportunities and make new connections within the Australian MedTech market.
Representing the Israeli companies were technology experts and the creators of medical devices and medical equipment, as well as medical researchers and government organisations, which also tuned in, all looking to enter or advance their presence in the Australian market
The Israel Trade Commission serves as the commercial, technology integration and forward-investment arm of the Israeli Embassy in Australia. As part of its responsibilities, the Trade Commission regularly works to help support Israeli companies, businesses, start-ups and investment funds that are keen to operate and grow in the promising Australian market, by assisting them in their endeavours by providing connections and business development services.
This webinar was a first-of-a-kind opportunity for Israeli companies to learn about registrations, requirements and standards, on top of best practices regarding how and with whom to best partner in Australia, grow business operations and most importantly, do so successfully.
Israel Trade Commissioner – Shai Zarivatch said: “2020 was a remarkable year, which changed and affected the ways we all interact and discuss business cooperation, most certainly between Australia and Israel. It has also affected and disrupted Australia’s healthcare and Medtech markets as the need to develop and introduce advanced remote healthcare IT solutions as well as practices, diagnostics and treatments resulting from the COVID pandemic – brought about interest and the need to deal with and overcome the new challenges, which emerged from the pandemic.
We are in touch and partnering with a myriad of local technology system integrators, MedTech distributors and nonetheless potential end-users such as hospitals, clinics, research and medical centres.”
The Israel Trade Commission Australia invites Australian medical distributors, device suppliers, and medical workers alike to attend MEDinIsrael, Israel’s largest virtual conference and exhibition, on 20 and 21 April.
