Generations of Women brunch
Jewish Care Victoria has hosted its Annual Generations of Women Brunch.
Over $60,000 raised on the day will go towards Jewish Care’s Housing Support Program, which supports individuals and families at risk of homelessness.
Over 200 women attended the event held at Melbourne’s The International in Brighton which featured an inspirational address by the charismatic Timmy Rubin.
Rubin, well-known in the Jewish community for running Melbourne’s Lubavitch mikveh and being Australia’s only Jewish female prison chaplain engaged the audience with her emotive and sometimes humorous stories. Timmy recounted experiences of her regular visits to Australia’s Jewish prisoners and how this has its own unique rewards.
Generations of Women Chair, Melissa Davis said the uplifting event was a great success and she was thrilled at the funds raised for Jewish Care’s Housing Support Program. This includes the expansion of community housing developments as part of Jewish Care’s Capital Campaign, Growing. For our community.
“I am extremely proud to once again be a part of this incredible Jewish Care event. It is wonderful to see so many women in our community come together for this important cause”, Melissa said.
