Shopping Centre developer John Gandel has been inducted into the Property Council of Australia’s Hall of Fame.

Gandel, founder of the Sussan fashion shops developed Australia’s largest shopping Centre in the Melbourne suburb of Chadstone.

When it was sold in 2006, the Gandel Group managed $8.5 billion made up of retail assets.

PCA president Darren Steinberg said that he had been an inspiring entrepreneur who had “helped transform Australia into a dynamic, prosperous society”.

Melbourne-based Gandel joins Westfield founder Frank Lowy as an inductee.
