Gaby Berger responds
Former board member of Sydney’s Montefiore Home Gabby Berger has responded to a reference to him being dismissed from the Board for “misconduct” being featured in a circular sent to the Home’s members.
Gabby Berger writes:
Dear Community,
I have nominated as a candidate for the Monte Board. Many of you will know that I was a previous Monte Board member. You will know this because there is an outrageous letter that the Monte has just circulated stating that I was removed for “misconduct”. This is totally untrue and defamatory.
I was removed because I had the audacity to challenge the President and Executive regarding Monte’s accounting and corporate governance practices, by issuing a full and frank written assessment to the Board. Clearly some members of the Board took exception to my criticisms. If fulfilling my responsibilities as a conscientious Director constitutes misconduct then so be it. However, I am assured by lawyers whom I respect that the suggestion of “misconduct” is ludicrous.
Furthermore, Monte’s letter omitted the fact that I have worked as a Gabbai every Shabbat and Yom Tov at the Monte Randwick Shule, for the past 5 years, for which I recently received an award from the Monte.
Those responsible for that letter should be ashamed of themselves.

You go for it Gaby and I sincerely hope you win.
After reading the letter published here from the Board, followed by this one and and after reading the AJN this morning, I see those people are an utter disgrace and need to be urgently replaced.
As I wondered last year when they had their stoush with Millie Phillips,
“What have they to hide?”
“What’s the big deal of fighting to remain on the Board?”
Maybe they are waiting for their AMs, or whatever it is they need to boost their giant size egos.
I think you mean Millie Phillips Shirlee
Will do now
I needed you to confirm
