“Apparently, the terrorist is a resident of east Jerusalem. A police force working for ongoing security identified the terrorist and neutralized him while he was sitting in the car,” said Police Superintendent Avi Biton.

According to the Shamir Medical Center in Be’er Yaakov, two of the victims are in serious condition and one is in moderate condition. A fourth victim is being treated for light injuries.

“When we arrived at the scene, we saw a vehicle that had been hit, and pedestrians standing at a bus stop. We immediately called additional forces to the scene. Near the bus stop, two men about 20 years old were lying, one of them conscious and the other from unconsciousness, that they suffered a multi-system attack,” said Magen David Adom paramedic Michelle Rashkovski, and MDA emergency medicine medic, Shneur Tsik.

“We immediately gave them life-saving medical treatment that included stopping bleeding, immobilization and drug treatment and evacuated them in the MDA intensive care unit to Shamir Assaf Harofeh Hospital,” they added.

The driver, identified as 27-year-old Mohammed Shihab of eastern Jerusalem, was killed by a responding Border Police officer.
