Former US ambassador to the UN to deliver oration
Former United States Ambassador to the United Nations Ambassador John Bolton will deliver the 31st B’nai B’rith ADC-Gandel Oration in Melbourne next month.

One of the world’s leading authorities on international affairs, Ambassador Bolton will speak on Global Security Threats: The challenges ahead, offering an unparalleled and unique perspective on world events and the biggest threats facing western democracies today.

A staunch defender of the state of Israel and the Jewish people, it was Ambassador Bolton who with courage and effectiveness spearheaded the rescission of the infamous ‘Zionism is Racism’ resolution in 1991, something he proudly describes as a ‘highlight of my career’. Ambassador Bolton also led the Security Council to approve a unanimous resolution to end the 2006 Hezbollah war on Israel, to authorize U.N. peacekeepers and to create an arms embargo against Hezbollah.

Prior to his UN appointment, Ambassador Bolton served as Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security in The George W Bush Administration, and also served in the administrations of President Ronald Reagan and President George H. W. Bush.Currently Chairman of the Gatestone Institute, Ambassador Bolton is a foreign policy senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. A contributor to FOX News Channel, his op-ed articles are regularly featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Times.
