In the second terrorist shooting attack in Israel this week, 5 people were murdered on the streets of Bnei Brak Tuesday night.
On Sunday night two terrorists opened fire in the streets of Hadera murdering 2 border police officers. Another 12 people were wounded. Isis claimed responsibility for that attack.
10 innocent people have been killed in terrorist attacks in the past week alone. In a one-week period 20 people were wounded.
Angry local residents are protesting in the area of the attack, calling on the government to do something about the continued terrorist attacks.
One group even turned over a parked car in the street in anger.
Initial police reports indicate that terrorists opened fire on civilians on Shaniyim Street in Bnei Brak, killing several innocent people. From there they reportedly moved to Herzl Street, where they opened fire on even more people.
One terrorist was killed by security forces on the scene of the attack. Diah Hamarsha was from the village of Ya’bad near Jenin and was in Israel illegally.
The 26-year-old had a criminal terrorist record. He was charged with belonging to a terrorist organization and trafficking weapons. He was convicted and served 6 months in prison in 2013.
There are reports that a second terrorist was captured and that a third is still at large.
Hamarsha definitely did not act alone and the police are currently searching for possible accomplices.
MDA medic Lipa Hirsch, who treated the wounded, said: “We heard the shots from the MDA station and went immediately in the direction. On Herzl Street, we noticed a 30-year-old man lying unconscious. He was out of breath and without a pulse with gunshot wounds. We performed medical tests, he was without signs of life and unfortunately we had to determine his death.
“About 100 meters down the street we saw a 40-year-old man unconscious with gunshot wounds to his body, another MDA team that arrived at the scene provided him with medical treatment and evacuated him to Beilinson Hospital in a critical condition.
“Together with the team that was with me, we continued to the arena on Two Street, Bialik corner, where we saw 3 unconscious wounded, with one of them in a vehicle and two others lying on the sidewalk. We performed medical tests but they were without signs of life and we have no choice but to determine their deaths.”
