Congratulations to those younger members of the NSW Jewish community who received recognition by the Premier Domenic Perrottet as being First in Course in this year’s HSC examinations.

 

Zane Simmons

Zane Simmons            Moriah College                         Course: Biology

You get the sense that Zane puts a lot of pressure on himself – he waits to find out whether he will get into Medicine, or if he will be taking a gap year. A smart and talented young man, Zane studied Biology, Chemistry, 4 unit maths and 3-unit English. While there’s already plenty of doctors in his family, Zane is driven to get into med by his desire to help people.

Samuel Sterling         Moriah College                           Course:  Classical Hebrew Extension

Yoel Yoffe                    Baulkham Hills High School   Course: Economics

Yoel was in Year 11 this year. He told the AJN: “It feels pretty amazing, and a bit surreal (to top HSC Economics). Next year my subjects will be Economics, Latin, Maths and English”
