Filmmaker Adam Dostalek chronicled the March of the Living on film and today on Yom Hashoah the film has been released along with its maker’s feelings posted on Facebook on this emotion-charged day. Watch the film on J-Wire.

“I’m overwhelmed with emotion.

Today is Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day). A day so significant it is unfathomable with words. It is the day we commemorate the 6 million Jews that perished in the Holocaust. Today, thousands of people around the world will morn, remember and cherish the lives that were taken from this earth.

 

I remember standing amongst the ruins of Auschwitz Birkenau on this day 2 years ago. My camera in one hand whilst wiping tears away with the other. I stood united with 15,000 other people from around the world as we heard the words NEVER FORGET! It is a day I will never forget and a day I don’t take for granted.

As much as I am humbled by the significance of this day, I am also very proud. Today is the day that I can finally

release my film Never Forget – A March of the Living Story. I’ve been waiting for this day for over 2 years. I poured my blood, sweat and tears into this film and I’m honoured to be able to share this with you.
