The monthly Monday afternoon concert and afternoon tea for the elderly and others interested in the excellent musical program is now organised by theB’nai B’rith’s Melbourne Mitzvah Lodge members, led by Deidre Wainrit.

Following the sale of B’nai B’rith House, where the Fellowship Group had met since its inception, The King David School (TKDS) offered its new music hall at the Rebecca Magid Centre free of charge for the popular monthly concerts.   Showing remarkable generosity of spirit, some of the KDS teachers and administration staff give up their lunch hour to assist with the set-up of the room for the afternoon concert.

Professional musicians and those who donate their time and talent, TKDS students, past and present, have performed for the elderly, either as instrumental ensembles or soloists, showing a  very impressive range of musical knowledge, skill and showmanship.  It is heart-warming indeed to see young people so generously and happily engaging with the elderly in our community.
