EU Task Force to deal with antisemitism
The B’nai Brith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) has welcomed the call by Federica Mogherini, Vice President of the European Commission and High Representative of the E.U. for Foreign Affairs, for the establishment of a European Union task force on antisemitism.
Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission, issued the following statement:
“The ADC has previously called for the formation of this special task force and we are very pleased that Ms. Mogherini has taken the lead on this critically important issue. We very much welcome this announcement of support as well as the news that Ms. Mogherini had sent her proposal to Frans Timmerman, the European Commissioner whose areas of responsibilities include human rights and non-discrimination. The recent murderous terrorist attacks in Paris and Copenhagen and the dramatic resurgence of global antisemitism have demonstrated the danger and pervasiveness of this scourge. Such heinous hate crimes need to be addressed at the highest level of possible, and it is the responsibility of the EU as a whole to tackle this growing threat. Jewish communities across Europe have been subjected to frightening levels of violent assaults, harassment and other forms of discrimination, and every tool and mechanism must be utilized by the EU to raise awareness of this urgent issue and to meaningfully fight back against the tsunami of antisemitism. Only then, will Europe’s Jews begin to feel more secure. It our hope that this important and encouraging endorsement by Vice President Mogherini results in the establishment of this body and that a clear and concrete plan emerges to counter the worrying rise of antisemitism”

what’s the basis for your comment about the EU?
What’s the basis for YOUR comment, Mr Herbert? It is not the first time you have asked questions such as this on this site.. Is it that you just don’t read broadly? Or are you simply stirring? If you are genuinely interested in the answer Google EU and Antisemitism. There’s a plethora of information on the (mostly) reliable internet sites. It would take Leon Poddebsky a month of Sundays to answer your question.
But allow me to answer quickly and quietly – in abbreviated fashion – It’s the truth, Mr Herbert. If you take the time to read the literature carefully you will (quite quickly) arrive at the same conclusion that Mr Poddebsky and I arrived at quite some time ago.
You beg the question so severely that I have no confidence in your ability to conduct a mature discussion, let alone effectively answer my enquiry.
Your condescending disposition brings absolutely nothing to this discussion given that the first rule of discourse is that if you make a claim, you have to back it up with data.
The EU is itself an engine of antisemitism.
Apparently it is also an accomplished practitioner of traditional European hypocrisy.
