The liberation of over 100 Jewish and Israeli hostages from Entebbe airport in Uganda in 1976 was unprecedented in the history of rescue missions. An Air France plane carrying 248 passengers and 12 crew members had been hijacked by Palestinian and German terrorists who threatened to kill the hostages unless their demands for the release of prisoners were met. Three of the hostages were killed in Operation Entebbe, including 19-year-old Jean-Jacques Mimouni. In his latest documentary “Live or Die in Entebbe”, filmmaker Eyal Boers examines the rescue operation from a new angle and accompanies Mimouni’s nephew as he tries to find out exactly how his uncle died.
