National Council of Jewish Women Australia and the New Israel Fund Australia are offering an exciting new initiative focusing on empowering women’s voices.

Expert Israeli and American speakers will offer hands-on skills including op-ed writing, storytelling and political activism across three 90 minute sessions next week.

The program is tailored to women young and old who are keen to master or refine these important skills which can be used in both their professional and private lives.

“We feel that women’s voices are vastly underrepresented in the community and want to help reinforce their opinions and perspectives. By learning with experts in these fields we hope that women will feel more confident whether they are sharing their views at the Shabbat dinner table or in the boardroom,” said Sharon Berger, NIF Australia’s program manager.

“We reached out to women in the US and Israel with significant experience and expertise in these fields and asked them to share their wisdom with us. They all happily embraced the opportunity. The result is a three-session interactive Women’s Empowerment course which we are really looking forward to” said NCJWA president, Melinda Jones.

Attendees can register to join the whole course or choose to attend only some of the sessions:

●  Sunday 7 November, 11am – OP ED WRITING FOR ALL – Breakdown the essential elements required for persuasive writing and how to get published in a newspaper or magazine, with the New Israel Fund’s media director, Elisheva Goldberg.

●  Monday 8 November, 7:30pm – WHY AND HOW WE TELL STORIES OF SOCIAL CHANGE: AN ACTIVIST’S TOOLBOX – Discussing why storytelling is central to social change efforts and explore diverse storytelling tools, with Hamoutal Gouri from the Kiverstein Institute in Israel.

●  Tuesday 9 November, 7:30pm – CHANGING THE POLITICAL AGENDA – Hear from two activists from Israeli-based Women Wage Peace to learn about their grassroots organisation campaigning for Israeli and Palestinian women to have a place at the negotiating table.

In order to ensure that the course is accessible to a wide range of participants across ages and income levels it’s free to those under 25 and those with low income, while there is a nominal charge for others.

Disgusting how can any Jewish group align with a hard core leftist anti Zionist group
Pathetic I hope followers of NCJW open their eyes and do some due diligence before entering into partnership with extremists .
