ECAJ: Employment opportunity – Media Advisor
The Executive Council of Australian Jewry, the national representative body of the Australian Jewish community, is hiring.
We are seeking to appoint a Media Advisor, who will work directly with the ECAJ Co-Chief Executive Officers, assisting with the ECAJ’s advocacy and media outreach.
The key functions of the role are to:
- Create and implement a media and social media strategy that advances ECAJ’s strategic objectives and contributes to achieving the organisation’s vision
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the media and social media strategy to ensure its ongoing success
- Support ECAJ events, projects and programs through proactive media and social media campaigns
- Increase community awareness of the ECAJ, including its organisational aims and objectives and successful outcomes
- Manage the development and production of strategic and external communications materials, including newsletters and community and stakeholder correspondence.
- Management of social media channels (e.g. Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter)
- Develop and maintain relationships with media and other relevant contacts

Required Qualifications
- 3 years’ experience in relevant roles
- Tertiary qualifications – Bachelor level or higher
- Strong familiarity with the Australian media landscape
- Knowledge and understanding of the challenges facing the Jewish community in Australia and globally
- Knowledgeable about current affairs and Jewish communal issues
