ECAJ elects Jillian Segal as it new president
Following normal procedure, the presidency of The Executive Council of Australian Jewry returns to Sydney after three years in Melbourne, with high-profile businesswoman and community personalty Jillian Segal being elected as the new president.
She has been acting as Vice-President until today when Anton Block completed his three years’ presidency. He now becomes Immediate Past President. The ECAJ has held its annual conference in Melbourne today.
Robert Goot has been elected Vice-President with Peter Wise becoming Honorary Treasurer. Daniel Aghion is the Honorary Secretary.
All positions were unopposed.
Jillian Segal was awarded the AO in January this year for distinguished service to the banking and financial regulation sectors, to not-for-profit organisations, and to women.
