Known as the Dutch Green Left Party, the motion was passed during the General Congress of the party on Feb. 16. The party holds 14 seats out of 150 in the Dutch parliament’s lower chamber.

“BDS is a legitimate means to help Palestinians in their fight for justice,” stated the resolution.

It also says that Green Left “will be alert and resist forcefully attempts in any country to criminalize BDS.”

The Dutch Center for Information and Documentation on Israel, a Jewish and pro-Israel group that combats antisemitism, slammed the motion.

“Green Left conveniently ignored how, in practice, BDS goes hand in hand with expressions of antisemitism and is linked to terrorist groups,” said the organization.
