September 14, 2020 by A J-Wire community service announcement
Read on for article

Following Streamed Shakespeare’s all virtual production of ‘The Merchant of Venice’ last month (trailer here) this roundtable will host the Director and Actors live in conversation.

They will be discussing the challenges of producing live theatre during COVID, working with technology to make it happen, and their modern take on this classic story. It will also pose the question:

Is The Merchant of Venice an antisemitic play? Or a play about antisemitism (among other things). Age-old themes of race, religion and class are weaved through the performance, with a modern spin. To watch the full production before this talk, click here.

Date and Time (Sydney/Melbourne):

Thursday 17 September 2020 11:00am to 12:00pm
