Dovid Slavin’s Chocolate Factory
In a first for Our Big Kitchen a new kosher product, Rawsome Chocolate, will be manufactured at OBK, by OBK.
Rawsome Foods began production of their chocolate brand at OBK about 6 months ago. In that time they have worked with OBK and the Sydney Kashrut Authority to achieve a kosher hechsher.
Now the directors of Rawsome have decided to advance their running of the business by extending the management of manufacture and distribution, and have entrusted this responsibility to Our Big Kitchen and its CEO Rabbi Dovid Slavin..
Rawsome Foods’ directors Clive Kaicer and Jennifer Kirschner said that they felt very comfortable with their decision.
“We have worked at OBK for over 6 months. They showed great patience with us as we worked through the ingredients and processes to achieve kosher status” Mr Kaicer said.
“OBK is run so professionally – we book our manufacturing times with OBK and everything is ready to go in a unique and friendly environment” Kaicer said.
OBK’s General Manager, Greg Fisher said that he was very excited about this new stage in OBK’s evolution.
“I am enormously proud and humbled that Clive and Jenny have entrusted us to continue the manufacturing of their product as they work on extending their range of healthy food products to further grow their business” Mr Fisher said.
Rawsome Foods manufacture a range of chocolate flavours including coffee, coconut, mint, ginger and inca-berry.
“The chocolates are all organic, gluten free, dairy free, soy free, nut free and refined sugar free, use no agave and must be produced under very strict controls which OBK management and staff demonstrate,” Kaicer said.
OBK’s director Rabbi Dovid Slavin is thrilled about Rawsome Chocolates.
“Firstly they produce a beautiful product. Secondly through working at OBK and the Kashrut Authority’s support another kosher product is in the market, and thirdly it is the start of another aspect to OBK” Rabbi Slavin said.
Holding his cards very close to his chest, Rabbi Slavin said that some more announcements from OBK and its activities will be made over the next couple of months.
“After what was the biggest year to date for OBK in 2013, this year will see our community reach continue to expand – we are very enthusiastic about the future” Rabbi Slavin said.
