A group of pro-Palestinian protestors called for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against Israel in Wellington last night…and group of pro-Israel supporters was in place to support Israel and to hand out leaflets explaining Israel’s position…

The protest by BDS and pro-Palestinian groups took place outside the St James Theatre in Wellington last night before the performance of the Batsheva Dance Company.

The Wellington Jewish community with strong support from Christian friends of Israel staged a counter-demonstration, focusing particularly on the racist allegation that Israel is an apartheid state

Israeli ambassador Yosef Livne attended Batsheva’s opening performance. They will perform three more times in the New Zealand capital.
