Door to Door Theatre
Moira Blumenthal Productions will present From Door to Door by James Sherman from 12th to the 24th November at the theatrette in the Sydney Jewish Museum.
From Door to Door follows the lives of three generations of one family’s women from impoverished Russian immigrants to assimilated Americans. The story covers a period of nearly 70 years beginning with the grandmother’s flight from the Russian pogroms in the 1930’s to post World War II when the influences of Women’s Liberation were starting to take hold. James Sherman says that what interested him was ‘what we get from our parents and then make choices about what we will or will not pass onto our children’.
From Door to Door is a light-hearted story with a core that is poignant and significant, delving into the social, religious and cultural mores of the times.
The play stars Annie Byron, Kate Skinner and Daniella Lacob and is directed by Moira Blumenthal
