Winner of the Audience Award at the Venice Film Festival in 2003, this is a heart-warming film about a young teenager’s coming-of-age, and his discovery of religion and humanity through his friendship with an aging Muslim shopkeeper. Set in the 1960s, Momo is a 13-year-old Jewish boy living with his grumpy dad in a red light district of Paris. He saves up to sleep with the working girls, and shops to cook for his gruff, unappreciative father, who constantly complains that Momo is not like his elder brother.
