Day One at the antisemitism global forum
Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel’s Minister of Diaspora Affairs, Naftali Bennett, were among the many officials who spoke at the opening session of the 5th Global Forum for Combating Anti-Semitism in Jerusalem yesterday.
Prime Minister Netanyahu said “The treatment of Israel is the way the Jewish people have been treated for generations.” and that “no external examination can explain the obsession against the Jewish State.”
Minister Bennett called upon all the participants to fight back and we must “shed light on the problems facing the Jewish communities overseas “and expressed the need to “move from words to action”.
Other speakers at tonight’s opening session included Anne Hidalgo – Mayor of Paris, Heiko Maas – German Minister of Justice and Tim Uppal – Canadian Minister of State for Multiculturalism.
The 5th Global Forum for Combating Anti-Semitism will comprise of a day of open deliberations and another of work groups. The Forum is sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Jerusalem and Diaspora Affairs.
There is a strong delegation from Australia including Julie Nathan representing The Executive Council of Australian Jewry and Jeremy Jones representing The Australia/Israel and Jewish Affairs Council.
The creative achievements of Jews in medicine laws helping the poor such as the corner of the field law in the Bible
and the Jewish Recognition of the Righteous Gentile plus the fact that Jews do not seek converts the live and let live in the common decency and fairgo way .
There is a responsibility for Jews not to be Belligerant as for all peoples .We ought admit to flaws and mistakes as all peoples and nations.
Interesting. If these folk attended on “day One”, how come reports in the Jewish Press on “minus Day One” reported that none of the 160 invitees were going to attend.
Also, if it is held in Israel, at least all the choir should be on the same page, in unison..
Not only amongst Jews. See following extract from PM Netanyahu’s welcoming address:
“Well, I’m very pleased to welcome you all to Jerusalem. There are senior government ministers here from Germany, from Romania, from Bulgaria, from Canada.
Our own Minister of Diaspora Affairs, Naftali Bennett,
The Mayor of Paris,
The UN Coordinator for the Peace Process,
Religious leaders from across the face, many from the Muslim community. I had an excellent discussion just now with the Imam of Paris.
There are ambassadors here and distinguished guests from so many walks of life, from so many lands, including great actors.
So I’m delighted to see all of you here, even though the subject of our deliberations is not a source of delight.”
I fail to understand what is the purpose of these junkets .
Having a conference in Israel amongst Jews on anti – semitism , so what is that going to achieve ?
Telll us what we already know .
Perhaps the conference should be held in Paris , Oslo, London the Epicenter . The Jews attending the conference can’t do anything about it other than stop their foolish support for multiculturalism which is another term for mass Islamic immigration.
Only the leaders of Europe can help prevent this epedemic from getting
any worse but that is like wishing for a cure for cancer or aids .
