David Marlow: new CEO at St Kilda Shule
Experienced communal leader David Marlow has been appointed St Kilda Shule’s Executive Director, succeeding CEO Rabbi Ronnie Figdor who is retiring after 10 years of service.
President Gerry Bullon confirmed the new appointment earlier this week.
David —who also happens to be a Shule member — was formerly the Executive Director of the Jewish Community Council of Victoria (JCCV) and more recently the CEO of East Timor Hearts Fund.
Gerry said the Shule was delighted to welcome David on board. “He is a seasoned leader in the non-for-profit sectors of both the Jewish and wider communities and has a deep understanding of the Shule’s needs and aspirations. David has a strategic focus and collaborative style and we look forward to working with him and other stakeholders as we move ahead with our vision for the future.”
David said he was excited about the new position. “My family has an extensive history with the Shule and I welcome the opportunity to work with the wonderful team (Rabbonim, staff, board and volunteers) to deliner meaningful, enjoyable and innovative experiences for our community. I look forward to seeing you all in Shule, at simchas, events and family activities.”
David will join the Shule on 15 March to ensure a smooth handover from Rabbi Figdor who finishes his role on 31 March.
