It was reminiscent of a family reunion when Dave Sharma and wife Rachel Lord arrived at pre-Shabbat drinks at Central Synagogue.

Dave Sharma was warmly greeted by Rabbi Levi Wolff, members of the shule boar,  Frank Lowy who had just arrived from Israel and his son Steven Lowy.

Sponsored by Jared Cadry, the event was an opportunity for Dave Sharma to engage with members of the congregation and express his ongoing support for Israel and the Jewish community.

The Central’s spiritual leader Rabbi Levi Wolff said: “Dave Sharma was the only member of parliament who reached out to me during the pandemic to ask if there was anything he could do to assist our congregants. Dave’s office worked tirelessly to get travel exemption visas so members of our community could visit loved ones in Israel”.

“When Rachel and I visit Central Synagogue and attend the service it’s like coming home,” Dave Sharma said when he addressed the guests. “My support for Israel and the Jewish community is enduring and from the heart and I’ll stand by you even when its not popular or fashionable to do so”.
