Danby walks out of parliament
During yesterday’s Question Time, the Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s slur linking Opposition Leader Bill Shorten to Nazi Dr Goebbels, prompted Federal Labor MP Michael Danby to walk out of Parliament.
When Speaker Bronwyn Bishop ejected fellow Jewish Labor MP Mark Dreyfus for addressing her as “Madam Speaker”, Danby rose to his feet declaring “if he’s out, I’m out over this”.
Mr Danby walked out of the chamber in disgust.
He stated that the Prime Minister “can slag us as much as he likes, but it is demeaning to him and the Parliament to use an example of the ultimate evil in politics”.
“He’s the Prime Minister – he is supposed to have high standards”.
I’m wondering if Mr Danby walked out when his own labour colleagues including Bill Shorten and Mr Dreyfus made the same reference in parliament
What hypocrites
I would respectfully suggest that all references to the ultimate evil of the Nazi Party should not be used as badly scripted outbursts in the Australian
Parliament
Yes that is true, as Prime Minister Mr. Abbott should have high standards, but you too should have high standards as you people are all fighting to take his place. If you behave as Dr. Goebbels, Hitler or Nazi’s, I can see no problems when people, Prime Minister Mr. Abbott, make you aware of your behavior. To avoid this sort of comment I recommend you alter your behavior.
