Michael Danby thinks Sydney Morning Herald Gerard Henderson’s article on recent terrorism convictions should be published internationally. The columnist’s piece on the courts’ dealing with those who plot to introduce terrorism to Australia met with the Federal Member of Parliament’s approval.

Danby told J-Wire: “It shows the parliament’s carefully framed terrorism legislation is effectively handling case after case of those planning violent terrorist attacks in Australia. Again I commend the security authorities and the Australian legal system for its effective handling of these grave matters. Laws framed in the parliament , where national security issue must be decide, it would not be in the interest of the Australian public if a small group of unilateral civil libertarians were able to challenge these effective and fair laws through some so-called human rights charter.’
