He has said on his web site: “A Green/Liberal preference deal is currently being discussed in Melbourne Ports. I understand this arrangement was initiated by the Liberal Party. The deal canvasses the Liberals continuing to give preferences to the Greens in Melbourne as they did in the last election. This would preserve the Greens Deputy Leader Adam Bandt who was elected on liberal preferences. The Liberal / Green deal in Victoria would also see the Greens giving preferences to Liberals in Melbourne Ports to help defeat me.”

Danby, Parliamentary Secretary for the Arts, told J-Wire: “Liberal strategist Michael Kroger suggests the Greens (who get 20% of the vote in Melbourne Ports) may preference the Liberals against me in a sordid deal which would see the Liberals continue to preference the Greens in the seat of Melbourne. Such an arrangement would preserve the Greens Political Party Deputy Leader Adam Brandt in Parliament.”

  1. And says:

The only political party to form an alliance with the Greens was Labor to form Government. We all saw the photos of Gillard and Brown signing on the dotted line. Look what that has delivered us….

  2. kk says:

Why would the Libs preference the Greens? If the Greens preferenced the Libs, Greens voters would not follow the card anyway. Danby’s utterances reinforce his status as a complete tosser.
