Crowd-funding Daniel
Melbourne’s Bialik student Daniel Baise is only 14 years old and already taking entrepreneurship very seriously…inventing a new computer screen.
Daniel appeared on the Channel 10 show ‘Shark Tank’ to present his invention, the ‘GTouch’ – an interactive computer screen that can be activated on glass – to the panel of ‘sharks’. He is the youngest entrepreneur ever to appear on the show.
Daniel has since been featured in The Herald Sun, and various TV and radio shows. Although his presentation did not win the funding support of the investors on the show, he was given the opportunity to attend a Trade Show in Las Vegas, which was a very exciting development. Daniel attended the event and said, “It was great fun and a good way to prepare me for getting into the (tech) industry.” He is also not giving up on his dream and will now be starting a crowd-funding project on indiegogo.com.
Daniel’s mum, Bialik ELC teacher Linda Baise, said that since a very young age Daniel showed a unique aptitude for business and technology and set up his own ABN at 13.
Daniel also nominated himself to be a liaison between the Bialik IT department and the student body, a role that he proposed directly to Principal Jeremy Stowe-Lindner. In this capacity, he has already created digital presentations for the school and assisted with 3D printing projects.
