The foyer at Sydney’s Montefiore Randwick was transformed into a pop-up gallery for Seniors’ Week, showcasing the vibrant work of 18 resident artists aged into their late 90s.

Robert Orie, Joanna and Edmund Capon

The exhibition was introduced by Randwick Mayor, Councillor Lindsay Shurey, and by Joanna Capon, who acts as honorary art consultant for the Montefiore Foundation. Sheila Corne spoke on behalf of her fellow residents – who ranged from established artists to complete novices before they came to live at the Randwick Campus – about the joy and meaning they all find in creativity, and the invaluable support offered by the dedicated Montefiore Art Therapy team.
