As university campuses around the nation featured Israeli Apartheid Week, members of The Australasian Union of Jewish Students countered by displaying specially designed posters.

A spokesman for AUJS told J-Wire: “We’ve distributed them to be put up locally in: Victoria, NSW, WA, Queensland, ACT, SA andNew Zealand. They were first put up in Victoria on Sunday night.”

Yes, the posters are one way of combating the well publicised Israel Apartheid Week !!!
Without attempting to reduce the importance of the posters, the posters alone could not be regarded as a necessary complete way of publicly arguing against the farcical notions propagated by IAW on university campuses. IAW has devised a multitude of activities, all well publicised in advanced. AUJS should have responded in a far more complex manner. We are supposed to be well informed, savvy, inventive and, above all, curageous. The posters alone do not cover all of the qualities I mentioned. It is VERY relevant the mere fact that AUJS leadership has declared publicly that they do NOT wish to engage IAW in a more complex manner as not to give”oxygen” to the IAW. THIS IS THE MOST TWISTED, MOST ABSURD EXCUSE !!!If AUJS would have known how to complexly and in equal measure, conteract IAW, then they would have done a comprehensively effective job. By declining the said necessary complex counter action AUJS has admitted that it did not arrive at a level of efficiency good enough to be extended into practice. It is a sad conclusion.
Next time will talk about the fear of reprisals and the extent to which it is indicative of insuficient preparation and, implicitely, expert tutoring. After that will talk about the responsibility of the rest of the leadership of our community and how their endemic ineptitude in the public forum has reflected on the young AUJS. It is the case of chronic lack-of-example example.

HOORAY!!! Finally, finally some of the students are challenging the lies against Israel and the basis for hostility to Jewish students who refuse to deny their heritage by swallowing the lying narratives on which the calumnies against Israel are based. Keep it up AUJS, because the professional Jews at the helm of our communal organistions are all waiting for backbone replacements.

TThank you for printing these posters for me to see. I was thinking how could we counteract the false accusation of apartheid in Israel. The Arabs living in Israel are always stressing that they would never wish to live in any other country. They have all the democratic rights. It wouldn’t hurt to mention that the Arabs who left their homes when the State of Israel was being created weren’t deported. Most escaped being promised by their leaders that they would be able to return soon, but were instead put into the camps for refugees where the third and fourth generation is being born now. The Jewish people thrown out from the Arab countries where many generations of their ancestors were living and bringing prosperity to these countries were absorbed either in Israel or in USA, Canada and Australia. No Egipt or other big countries in the area gave any help for proper settling the Arabs who left their former places scared by false preopaganda.
